Course Description
The Advanced Placement course in Human Geography is a yearlong course designed to introduce students to the systematic study of patterns and processes that shape and have shaped human understanding, use, and alteration of Earth’s surface.  Students will learn to analyze human social organization and environmental consequences by employing spatial concepts and landscape analysis to investigate the relationship between humans and their environment.  Students will also learn about the methods and tools used by geographers in their science and practice.  Please refer to www.Collegeboard.org for the summary outline and any further questions you may have.

The aim of this course is to provide students with the learning experience and skills equal to that received by students enrolled in most college level introductory human geography courses. 

Students taking this course are expected to take the AP Human Geography Exam in May.
